Adverbs of frequency

Frecuency is the number of times something happens within a specific period. Adverbs of frequency indicate how often an action occurs.

  1. I always.
  2. You usually.
  3. He/She/It often.
  4. We sometimes.
  5. You rarely.
  6. They never.

Place adverbs of frecuency before the main verb, but after the verb "to be".

  • She always goes to the gym in the morning.
  • They are usually very busy on weekdays.

Do you ever...?

Use "Do you ever...?" to ask if someone does something at any time.

  • Do you ever travel abroad?
  • Do you ever eat out?
  • Do you ever watch movies on weekends?

"Do you ever...?" means "¿Alguna vez...?" in Spanish. It can be answered with "Yes, I do" or "No, I don't".

How often...?

Use "How often...?" to ask about the frequency of an action.

  • How often do you exercise?
  • How often does she visit her grandparents?
  • How often do they go to the cinema?

Future with "going to"

The future with "going to" is used to express plans or intentions for the future.

  • Affirmative:
Subject Verb "to be" going to Base verb Complement
I am going to eat pizza.
You are going to travel next month.
He/She/It is going to study for the exam.
We are going to visit our friends.
They are going to watch a movie.
  • Negative:
Subject Verb "to be" not going to Base verb Complement

  • Interrogative:

  • Short answers:

  • Information questions:

Mini story

Every morning, I wake up early and have breakfast. I usually eat cereal and drink a cup of coffee. After breakfast, I go to work. I work from Monday to Friday. On weekends, I like to relax and spend time with my family. We often go to the park or watch movies together.
