# Prepositions

Las preposiciones son palabras que se usan para mostrar la relación entre un sustantivo (o pronombre) y otras palabras en una oración. Indican dirección, lugar, tiempo, causa, manera, entre otros. Para los determinados ejemplos, imagina principalmente a un gato y una caja.

1. The cat jumped out of the box:

"Out of" is used to indicate movement from the inside to the outside of something. In this case, the cat is moving from inside the box to outside of it.

2. The cat went into the box:

"Into" is used to indicate movement toward the inside of something. Here, the cat is moving from outside the box to inside it.

3. The cat is inside the box:

"Inside" indicates that the cat is located within the boundaries of the box.

4. The cat is outside the box:

"Outside" indicates that the cat is located beyond the boundaries of the box.

5. The cat is on the box:

"On" indicates that the cat is positioned on the surface of the box.

6. The cat is under the box:

"Under" indicates that the cat is positioned below the box.

7. The cat is next to the box:

"Next to" indicates that the cat is positioned beside or adjacent to the box.

8. The cat jumped over the box:

"Over" indicates that the cat moved from one side of the box to the other by going above it.

9. The cat walked around the box:

"Around" indicates that the cat moved in a circular path surrounding the box.

10. The cat is in front of the box:

"In front of" indicates that the cat is positioned ahead or before the box.

11. The cat is behind the box:

"Behind" indicates that the cat is positioned at the back of the box. We can't see the cat.

12. The cat climbed up the box:

"Up" indicates that the cat moved to a higher position on the box.

13. The cat climbed down the box:

"Down" indicates that the cat moved to a lower position from the box.

14. The cat jumped across the box:

"Across" indicates that the cat moved from one side of the box to the other side, typically by jumping over it. You cross an area, river, street, avenue, etc.

15. The cat is far from the box:

"Far" indicates that the cat is at a great distance from the box.

16. The cat is near the box:

"Near" indicates that the cat is close to the box.

17. The cat walked through the box:

"Through" indicates that the cat moved from one side of the box to the other side by going inside it. This is more abstract since boxes are not typically hollow, but imagine a box with openings on both sides.

18. The cat walked along the box:

"Along" indicates that the cat moved in a line following the length of the box.

19. The cat is between two boxes:

"Between" indicates that the cat is positioned in the middle of two boxes.
